Coating

Officine Taiocchi’s coating department carries out third-party epoxy powder coating on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components. The system, located in our Bergamo facility, operates on a continuous line to ensure consistent quality and optimized production times.

The powder coating cycle takes place in a continuous multi-stage process: the parts are hung on the conveyor chain and pass through degreasing, phosphating, rinsing, and passivation treatments with water jets at 50°C. This is followed by drying in an oven at 130°C with hot air jets.

Powder coating is applied in the Wagner SuperCube booth with Color Center system. This technology ensures uniform powder distribution, rapid color changes, and reduced material waste.

The process is completed in the curing oven, where the powder polymerizes to form a durable, long-lasting coating. After curing, the operators re-tap the threads and carry out an in-line quality check before removing the parts from the conveyor.

Epoxy powder coating offers several advantages over liquid painting: greater resistance to scratches, impacts, and chemical agents; no solvents or VOCs (an environmentally sustainable process); a uniform finish even on complex geometries; and a wide range of RAL colors and finishes (gloss, matte, satin, textured).

The painted parts then move directly to the assembly department for assembly and packaging.
