Officine Taiocchi’s drilling department carries out third-party sheet metal drilling and threading operations with the highest precision.
In our drilling department, various operations are performed:
- Boring: we machine existing holes to achieve tight dimensional tolerances and superior surface finishes, required for precision mechanical fits.
- Threading: we produce metric and special threads using manual and automatic tapping machines.
- Flow drilling: this thermal technology creates cylindrical bushings directly in the sheet metal, without removing material. The result is a stronger thread than with traditional methods, making it ideal for thin sheet metal where welded nuts cannot be used.
- Drilling: we carry out holes of any diameter on sheet metal and plates in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. We use column and radial drilling machines to ensure the perpendicularity and dimensional precision required by the project.
- Counterboring and countersinking: we prepare seats for cylindrical head and countersunk screws, ensuring perfectly flat and centered bearing surfaces.
The drilling department’s operations are integrated with the laser cutting, bending, and welding stages. Thanks to the in-house management of the entire production cycle, we reduce lead times and simplify logistics for our clients.
