On November 30, at the Teuliè Military School in Milan, the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) held its award ceremony. In the presence of FIR Vice President Paolo Vaccari and Lombardy Committee President Maurizio Vancini, important honors were bestowed upon individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth and promotion of rugby in the Bergamo area.
Among the most prestigious recognitions was the Golden Oval with Honorary Frond, awarded to Elio Taiocchi for over 40 years of rugby involvement. A legendary forward for Rugby Bergamo in the 1980s and 1990s, Taiocchi was the second Bergamo native—after Aldo Battagion—to wear Italy’s national team jersey, playing a key role in the team’s rise to Serie A2 (Italy’s top division at the time). His dedication extended well beyond the field. Through consistent effort, he helped spread the sport, founding the Black Eagles youth team in Brembate Sopra.
Officine Fratelli Taiocchi is proud of this honor and offers its heartfelt congratulations to Elio Taiocchi, a true example of determination, commitment, and team spirit—the same values he has passed on to our company’s team.
